You’ll spend much of your time practicing the art of photography. You’ll learn the basics of camera and its main controls, lenses, flashes, studio set ups, composition, colour balance and the use of light. You’ll also experiment on pc’s practicing a range of techniques to control the way your images impact the viewers.
You will learn how to use professional Digital Cameras to express ideas, trigger emotions, and convey information. Topics of study also include the operation and maintenance of cameras; image editing softwares, lighting, composition, colour and many other topics.

1) Foundation Course
A Practical oriented course, which is specially designed for those beginners who want to learn photography practically on week-ends. There is a great demand for Indian photographers in American Cruise Industry. Indian Recruiting Agencies such as Air Bourne and Indus are looking for young, enthusiastic, confident and hard working boys and girls for the said job. A photographic qualification along with appreciation of top rate customer service is also required. We here at NIP train such people and prepare them for the photographic tests conducted by the Agencies. Many of our students have already joined the Cruise Lines and are getting paid handsomely. Over 50% of the candidates being selected from all over the country are NIPIANS. We also guide them to prepare their own portfolios. So friends don’t you want to take this opportunity? Even if you don’t posses your own camera you can still learn professional photography as we provide professional cameras during the course. The course contents are more or less the same as our Basic Photography course with more practical sessions than theory and cover many indoor & outdoor practical sessions with studio lighting set up for portraiture.

2) Crash Course
The course is same as above but is completed within 8 days on week-days. More suitable for outstation students and working people who can neither join week-end batch nor week-days batch but can take a leave for a week.

3) Basic Photography
Basic technical knowledge is imparted through this course. Camera (both digital and conventional), its various parts and their functions, various types of camera, lens, flash, lighting, filters, close-up etc are the main topics covered in theory. Practical sessions include outdoor excursions, studio modeling with multiple flash set up that are conducted in Basic Course only at NIP, which is noteworthy. This course builds basic foundation to select any branch of photography namely function and studio photography, pictorial and hobby photography, nature/wild life/bird photography,
commercial / industrial and fashion photography etc. Beautiful booklet containing detailed notes on photography is given to every student at no extra cost, as a result students need not waste their time in writing notes in classroom, instead can concentrate more on the explanatory lectures to get in-depth knowledge of the subject. Institute may provide cameras to those who do not possess ones during the course period at no extra cost, a unique facility! Professional cameras like Nikon, Pentax, Canon, Minolta, Yashica, Olympus etc are used for training. Students use our Digital SLR cameras for indoor practical sessions
Main Features of the course
a) Institute provides different professional SLR cameras and digital SLR cameras free of charge for learning during the course. Students get opportunity to operate our digital cameras.

a) The course combines all the contents of Basic/Advance Photography, Digital photo Editing, Workshops on Model/Fashion Lighting and Digital Photography.
b) Every Diploma student attends the workshops three times to get more practice of lighting and digital photography to master the techniques. Lot of hands-on practice both indoors and outdoors.
c) Intensive practical training on studio lighting for modeling and commercial product photography.
d) A student can confidently set up a commercial studio for shooting model portfolios, commercial and product shoots.
e) Library books for reading and reference.

This has now become essential for an able photographer to know all digital techniques to enhance the quality of photographs using a computer. Hence a photographer must acquire knowledge of digital photo editing from the photography point of view. NIP gives the same. It imparts knowledge in digital photo editing keeping in mind the needs of a photographer that too with reasonable fees.
What you can do after doing this course: Improve the quality of a photograph digitally. Mixing many photographs together to make a wedding album page. Photo retouching and restoration of an old photo. Colour correction. Converting a B/W photo into a colour one. Change background. Give many digital effects to enhance the appearance of a photograph. Make artwork with text matters. Make a photo package. Make necessary corrections in a photograph etc.

8) Workshop on Professional Model Lighting and Digital Photography
To promote your photographic skills we conduct a four days full time workshop on PROFESSIONAL PORTRAIT LIGHTING AND DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY. This workshop is basically meant for those who are already in the photography business. The workshop is especially designed as an exhaustive, step-by-step study in the art of modeling, portrait and fashion photography inside a studio as well as outdoors. The aim of the programme is to gradually develop confidence in a commercial photographer, studio owner, model portfolio maker and even a wedding photographer in handling modeling assignments, photo sessions and portfolios for an independent indoor & outdoor shoot. The workshop also deals with different aspects of Digital Photography. It is a need of today’s photographer to learn all aspects of digital camera. The workshop includes theory and practical sessions on various digital cameras. The importance of correct white balance settings, colour & tonal enhancements in photoshop are explained in details. Our professional digital cameras are used for practical sessions. A professional model and a pro makeup artist is hired for the workshop and it is conducted inside an air conditioned studio.
